ADP has consistently demonstrated an unwavering dedication to advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities. Through a series of impactful initiatives, ADP have tirelessly strived to raise awareness and bring much-needed attention to this vital cause. ADP has been actively involved in conducting numerous workshops and running extensive campaigns to educate society about the multifaceted challenges faced by persons with disabilities.
ADP advocacy journey includes significant milestones:
• 2014: ADP was deeply involved in the advocacy for the passage of the landmark Disability Rights Bill Movement, campaigning vigorously for the enactment of the New Disability Rights Bill in Parliament.
• 2006-2012: ADP played a pivotal role in advocating for the inclusion of a dedicated chapter on disability within the 11th Five Year Plan.
• 2007: ADP actively participated in National meetings for an amendment to the Rights of Persons with Disability Act, 1995, held at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
• June 15, 2013: ADP organized a comprehensive State Workshop for the Disability Movement in New Delhi, covering critical areas such as Accessibility, Education, Health, Sports, Employment, and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Bill.
• 2009: ADP was actively involved in advocating for the inclusion of children with disabilities in the Right to Education Act.
